Vessel Figure #1 is the painting where it all clicked for me. Almost every painting & drawing since then springs from it. Candy colors and simple forms to make a simple but enigmatic narrative: Less AND more. Teetering between funny-ha-ha and funny-sometimes-weird-sometimes-disturbing they seem to draw you in AND push you back. Creating that tension, that deceptive simplicity, is what makes me paint.
